12 ounces whole wheat or brown rice pasta
1/2 cup of pesto
1/2 cup oil-packed julienned sun dried tomatoes drained
1/2 cup pine nuts
1/4 cup roughly chopped fresh basil leaves
Cook pasta, drain, return to pot and add pesto, tomatoes and pine nuts. Stir ingredients then garnish with basil.
Eat and enjoy. I like this recipe because you only get a measuring cup and one pot dirty. If you don’t want to chop your basil just tear it up and then you don’t have to wash a knife or cutting board. yep…I’m that lazy.
The beautiful, 17inch laptop Robby got me for my birthday died the other day. I was editing my Channel 101 show, I left the apartment to walk to Gelsons for a treatie and when I got back the screen went black. My brother, a techie wiz did everything to get the screen reactivated but to no avail. I took it into the mac store and the “genius” couldn’t figure it out either so we sent it out to be repaired.
I still don’t know if I am going to loose everything on my computer. I have most of my videos on external drives and my doodles are on my website but all my writing is gone. I’ve been working on this one project for over a year and only have a pdf copy so now I’m retyping the whole thing since everytime I copy and paste the formatting gets all wonkey. AHHH, thankfully I have The Shins, Postal Service, Coral, Spoon, Radiohead and The Pixies to get me through it.
Recently I have gotten involved with the Courage Campaign and I am proud to announce that Silverlake, Los Feliz and Echo Park are forming an alliance to promote marriage equality. I went to my first group meeting last night and it was so refreshing to sit amongst so many smart and active individuals who want to promote change.
Ironically, I am probably the least philanthropic, not to mention self absorbed person I know. Shit, I don’t even want to get married but they inspired me to help. Because honestly, what right does anyone have to dictate to someone else how to lead their life? It’s simply un-American. And the fact that the number of hate crimes increased after the passage of Prop 8 is a scary fact. So in an effort to bring our community together we’re designing T-shirts, starting a website, creating a tumblr, making videos and hopefully are going to be a part of Sunset Junction. I’ll keep everyone posted on upcoming events and whoever wants to come join us is welcomed.
Woke up and finished watching this movie. It’s bizarre how much Eric Stoltz looks like Michael J. Fox in certain shots. I’m fascinated that there can be two different actors who look relatively similar but their essences are completely different. Regardless I still think it’s Mary Stuart Masterson’s movie.
I kinda wish she would have ended up with the Duncan character. Here are some choice quotes from the film.
Watts: Ray, this is 1987. Did you know a girl can be whatever she wants to be? Ray: I know. My mom’s a plumber.
If you ever go to Little Dom’s in Los Feliz, I highly recommend the Fritters with Lemon Curd dessert. Holy shit, for an over priced eight dollars, you get five delicious, fried, warm doughnuty balls with a side of perfectly tart dipping sauce. So good.
My body doesn’t like daylight savings. It’s ten of midnight and this is the most awake I have felt all day.
I just got distracted looking up black birds on deviantart.com and forgot to post this. Now it’s five minutes to one. I think it’s time to turn off the computer and go back to reading, Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
